Auditions for Tom Stoppard'Indian Ink & Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice and a new piece in development: “Lorca: Canto Jundo/Deep Song.” Auditions for all three are Sat Dec. 29 from 12 noon at the Dougherty Arts Center appointment required auditions@austinshakespeare.org. 

NOTE: NOT Dec. 22.

Particularly seeking 2 actors who are South Asian for Indian roles or diverse actors who are facile with an Indian dialect. And Spanish speaking actors for Lorca piece. Auditioners should prepare a 1-2 minute piece that relates to the season. Speeches should be memorized or read with familiarity. Using text from the scripts under consideration is welcome. Actors auditioning for Lorca can request a Lorca poem in Spanish to be read with familiarity.

ALL actors receive some pay. Equity actor contracts available for Merchant.  Indian Ink & Merchant offer Equity Membership Candidate points.

 

​Indian Ink by Tom Stoppard. performed at Rollins Theater at the Long Center.  Rehearsals begin January 15, 2019.  Performance dates: February 15 - March 2.

The Merchant of Venice, Free Shakespeare in Zilker Park.  Rehearsals begin April 9, 2019.  erformance dates: May 8 - 26..  Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theatre (outdoors)
