Out of town interns are welcome but Austin Shakespeare cannot provide housing or pay at this time. The internships themselves are unpaid, but may be eligible for college credit (check with your college).
Many college and post-college students have found that an internship with Austin Shakespeare is an enjoyable and valuable professional experience in building contacts in the Austin area as well as building their resume. Shows are at the Long Center for the Performing arts as well as at a unique replica of an Elizabethan theater, called The Curtain, off City Park Rd. Austin Shakespeare provides a welcoming atmosphere for opportunities to expand your administrative and production skills.
Internships are 8-12 weeks in length and require that the Intern work 10-20 hours per week. All Interns must have flexible work schedules.
Interested candidates should send a resume & letter of interest to Managing Director, Alex Alford, Alex@austinshakespeare.org.
